Assegnato a Gamindo il premio GoBeyond: il team entra di diritto a far parte del panel delle migliori idee della call for ideas promossa da Sisal
La società digitale come alleato durante l’epidemia
Even during a pandemic, digital innovation continues unchecked. As noted by the Minister for Regional Affairs and Autonomous Regions, Francesco Boccia, dealing with the Covid-19 emergency would have been disastrous if our society was not digital. In fact, the first streamed version of DigithON, the biggest Italian digital marathon, conceived by Boccia, took place on 23 and 24 October in a revisited format to ensure the safety of all participants.
DigithON: la maratona digitale italiana
50 start-up finalists from all over Italy and beyond, selected from over 400 projects, competing for one of the most prestigious awards on offer. The event is also and especially a launch pad for the best innovative ideas in the world of Italian entrepreneurs. Continuing the pattern commenced in 2018, the event was again sponsored by the GoBeyond and DigithON as a joint initiative.
Sisal was represented at the awards ceremony which took place on Saturday, 31 October, offering the GoBeyond award. This comprises a cash prize and the selected start-up is automatically a finalist in Sisal’s call for ideas.
Gamindo: l’app di gaming che aiuta gli enti benefici
This year, the winner was Gamindo. The idea, developed by the Veneto-based founder Nicolò Santin with a team of eight young people from different areas of Italy (from Milan to Naples, Treviso to Rome), is the first gaming platform for smart phones and tablets that donates the developers’ earnings to charity. The start-up developed a video games app that allows people to play their games and donate money to charity at the same time: the users can play on their devices free of charge, collecting gems of different values to be donated to a charity or solidarity project. The money is donated by the companies that commission Gamindo to build a video game, opting to participate in this solidarity project and donate part of their proceeds to charity.
As winner of the GoBeyond award, Gamindo has earned its place in the ranking as a finalist among the best start-ups jostling for one of the prizes on offer: the winner will receive €50,000 while the best idea of each of the two categories will receive a prize of €30,000 and access to a mentoring programme run by the enabling partners.
